EDUC 633 and 638- Introduction

Hi Everyone,
So excited for this course!  Looking forward to meeting all of you on the web!  Here is a little about me;-)
My name is Maggie Ward and I live in Littleton, CO.  I teach first grade at Littleton Public Schools.  I am currently pursuing my Masters in Educational Technology Instruction and Design.  I love to play tennis, shopping, watching movies, and playing with my boys.  I am looking forward to learning about how I can effectively use technology and support for my colleagues.

  1. Hey Maggie,

Thanks for a great introductory video!

Wow - you are busy with your little ones and first grade! I think that you were not a professional golfer - am I right?

Looking forward to working with you this term :)

  2. Hi Maggie,
First let me say I am jealous that you guys just started back. Tomorrow ends our 3rd week back with students. I and my wife are big fans of Britain, and spent 2 weeks there this summer. It must be cool to get to head over to see family members. Also I love golf; I’m one of the coaches at my school. So you’ve got my approval all way around ;). I look forward to your input during the class.

  3. Hi Maggie!
How exciting that we are both in the same sections of EDUC633 & EDUC638. I absolutely adored your video. I am hoping that your in-laws are as great as mine and that it was a good 8 weeks. However, even with the best of friends and loved ones, 8 weeks is a long time! I am going to say that maybe you were not a professional golfer.

  4. Hi Maggie!
I thought your professional golf joke was amazing! Haha! Wow, it sounds like you are one busy mom, wife and I'm sure a fantastic teacher (although I have no idea how you can balance all of that AND complete a graduate program at the same time). Needless to say I'm in awe of your "Superwoman" abilities and hope someday I can be as great of a mom! I'm so glad to meet you and hope you enjoy this class!

Ps: Colorado is one state that I have not made it to yet. Is it as great as everyone says it is?

  5. Hi Maggie,

You sound like you have your hands full. I know the feeling. I have a 1st grader and a 3rd grader who keep me on my toes as well as an 11th grader. It's a task. I have an Uncle who lives in Colorado Springs and I also am very intrigued with using technology in the classroom. Preferably the middle grades but I am now looking at other avenues of using technology to teach. I do not know a thing about golf, so I say that very well means that you are a patient person because golf definitely requires patience. Have you ever visited Augusta for the "Masters?" Well, nice to meet you and look forward to meeting you again later.
